I think that no restrictions would have been foolish in March/April, but that over time the argument for letting people do what they want has grown stronger. Basically you need to choose: Are you actually going to fight this thing, or not? If so, fight to win. If not, accept the consequences.
I view what is happening now as mostly accepting the consequences. All we see from any state is stuff like closing bars and gyms after 10pm. That isn’t even pretending to pretend to address the situation.
