Why wouldn’t vaccinating half of a married couple be better than half of vaccinating the whole? They can vaccinate whoever interacts with other people more, and then have that person deliberately interact with other people instead of the other—do the groceries, say.
It depends on how much of the risk can be allocated to one person, versus how much risk needs to be accepted by both. With one vaccination, you can use such tricks to go from being low-risk to being almost zero risk while opening up some extra activities, but joint activities remain entirely closed off, any kids are still a danger, etc.
