I’ll come to the first one if there are at least 5 people I don’t know coming (I already know gears)
VR stopped being a place I regularly hang out after VRChat shut down the pirate movie world x]. It will become a place I hang out continuously when I can use VR as a primary computer interface modality, but that’s a few years away.
I’d come! Mailing list would be weird, I’m used to discord, but do what works for you. Speakers don’t need to have VR, just windows+steam or a sufficiently powerful android phone. I’m a VRChat veteran and would love to have folks from this crowd on there.
Looks interesting! I’ve read a little bit of this site, and someone linked this on discord. If it happens and is within convenient hours, I’ll certainly join by PC.
RE: EAVR, I haven’t felt like running or advertising meetups after the previous main host lost interest. Mako, who is very enthusiastic about VR, has suggested that topicless meetups aren’t worth running. Having a somewhat structured event like a typical IRL meetup would probably work a lot better than the topicless discussion meetups we were having. I’m optimistic that “virtually rational”/”vrlw”/whatever we end up calling it is a better selector, we’ll have to see.
I’d be tentatively interested

I’d be down! I moved away from the Bay during covid and so feel some social lack from that.

There exists an Effective Altruism VR discord group. It used to have regular VRChat meetups in like 2021 but doesn’t have much activity now i think

+1
Never really got into VRChat, but I’d be happy to try a LW meetup there.
