Libertarianism secretly relies on most individuals being prosocial enough to tip at a restaurant they won’t ever visit again.
Why is this the case? In Australia tipping isn’t particularly a norm that we adhere to. What is the point that it is trying to make? How prosocial do I have to be to tip at restaurants?
I think it’s intended as a sufficient, but not necessary condition. If a culture can maintain a voluntary, prosocial norm like tipping, it will do well under libertarianism.
