It’s enough that Putin’s actions make sense in Putin’s models. Given that the book has been highly predictive of Putin’s foreign policy over the past 20 years, it seems that the simplest explanation is that Putin is at least partially thinking in those terms. In Dugin’s model of geopolitics, invasion is necessary and has long-term goals.
