Careful. Lots of people can use the Internet. (It bothers me a little bit when people on LessWrong say things like ‘using LessWrong is evidence of rationality’ and suchlike, mostly because I feel it encourages complacency.)
His reputation here overwhelms any evidence from the mere fact that he’s here.
Oh wow, I totally misread Lauryn. I thought they were saying it’s mildly rational to take anecdotes as evidence from someone who was on “the site”, as in at the site of the spooky house. Like a general listens to a scout who has just surveyed some terrain and doesn’t say, “Haha, your mission was pointless! This report is nothing but worthless anecdotes! Come back when you have a decent effect size!”

I took “being on this site” to mean “being a regular” in this context.
