Here’s a prediction. The cryonics facilities of the present will end up being the terrifying haunted ruins of the far future.

“many couples with kids—THAT HAD BEEN SIGNED UP FOR CRYONICS FROM BIRTH LIKE A GODDAMNED SANE CIVILIZATION WOULD REQUIRE” -shouts E. Yudkowsky in dramatic ALL CAPS to show that this is VERY IMPORTANT.
To which I reply, Fuck you, bitch.
You have every right to throw every dime you have away on the head-freezing religion. You have no right to demand anyone else participate in or subsidize your wretched faith against their will. And if everybody has to be signed up for this fraudulent crap, everybody obviously has to pay for everyone else. So where’s your money, you loudmouthed idiot? Hey, I’ll sign up for cryonics myself, if you send me a money order or cashier’s check for the proper amount. (Sorry, I don’t accept personal checks from Bayesians.)
You seem impatient to skip over formulating the boring theology of the head-freezing religion, or to speculate on the exact nature of the magical resurrectionary beings that will bring you back to life (how sad for you if they turned out to be Joseph Curwen) and get right to persecutin’
Is this because of the obvious strains that must accompany being a “theorist” who accomplishes nothing, proves nothing, predicts nothing and who works for the Institute of Nothing itself, the Singularity Institute?
This is rubbish. Your contention that cryonics be made mandatory involves coercion of those who do not agree—that’s what “mandatory” means. Violence is at the base of all coercion, all regulation, all mandates. Therefore, everything you piously claim above is a lie.
