right now I am reading a textbook on set theory, and although I am pretty sure that 99-100% of the information there could also be found in other sources, that it not a sufficient reason to throw the textbook away.
What about there being information in the other books , that isn’t in the one you’re reading?
As far as I know, there isn’t some big Manichean battle in the world of set theory , but there are in many other areas.
You can read a book on one of those subjects, and it can create a misleading impression without saying anything false, by omitting the other side of the story.
