I agree very strongly that the strategy requires some sort of qualitative change when it has to scale beyond a Dunbar / hunter-gatherer-band sized group. I expect that group to have a much easier time solving that problem than we currently do, though, and I’d consider it fantastically good news to know for certain that the current things we’re trying resulted in the formation of such a group, either collocated in space or with some reasonable information technology substitute, with a means of support that provides enough leisure to think about the problem part-time for a year together.
