Definite Upvote for filling the depressingly barren niche that is Introductory Postings! On a blog as big and interconnected as this one, it’s hard to know where to start introducing the idea to other people. The new front page was a good start at drawing people in, and I admire your spirit in continuing that pursuit.
I love this post, personally. It starts off very well, with a few juicy bits that prompt serious thinking in the right direction right off the bat. Only problem is, my internal model of people who do not have an explicit interest in rationality got confused/bored halfway through “Types of Errors” and clicked out to play angry birds. It stopped reading like common-sense and started reading like a textbook—or worse, a manual. (Granted, a trouble-shooting manual for the human mind does not sound like a bad idea, but it’s still the sort of thing that most people do not like to read until circumstances force them to.)
