Not just in terms of how many people will get negative utility from that, but also it will substantially reduce how many people will be willing to recommend the story to others (once it is finished). The potential downside to that is simply too large.
If that really does happen, I’m going to buy 3333 Eliezer Yudkowsky ems and put dust specks in their eyes. Again and again and again, for as long as the universe has usable energy.
