This meetup repeats on the 1st Friday of each month.
All welcome from 6:30pm. Call the phone number on the door and I’ll let you in.
Sadly I can’t make it tonight. I find myself in the wrong timezone and I’ll be asleep.
I’m really disappointed that I can’t be there, but alas, I’ll be approximately 15695km away.
I hope to attend, but if I do make it in I will be running late—probably arrive around 20:45 − 21:00.

I don’t believe you can (without, say, embedding a image link to a latex parser). You can strike through an entire comment by retracting it but that is a different mechanism than the markdown syntax.
