He did specify only the textbooks that Harry deemed safe for Draco, presumably keeping with the wizarding model of “the lesser perils.”

Couple “if you know what you’re going to think in the future and just think it now” with “any technique which is good enough to defeat me once is good enough to learn myself” and he has every reason to want to figure this out pronto. On top of wanting to be Harry’s sole source of information, of course.
