I suppose that’s a fair criticism. But you have cherry picked these examples. In my defense, I also reference SSC and a 448-page book by Stephen Jay Gould on IQ, which is entirely about the history of psychometrics.
It’s an area of interest, not necessarily an area of expertise. I wrote a post to get feedback and improve my understanding of the topic. I have a richer understanding of the issue than I had two days ago. And so I accomplished what I aspired to do.
It’s not the first time I’ve seen someone raise the topic of Gould’s book about the history of psychometrics, only to receive this link, according to which Gould has severely misrepresented the of consensus of evolutionary biologist in order to perform a weird brand of plagiarism in his other book.
While not entirely irrelevant, Gould’s general reputational factor (oh the irony!), is much less relevant than exploration of his actual reasoning about psychometrics and whether they are correct or wrong. Providing a link to such review would be a strictly superior practice.
Is anyone open to writing a proper book review? I think there is a general need for it and would appreciate it, personally.

Uhm...
