Eliezer is certainly a smart guy, but I haven’t personally seen anything indicating that his coding skills are especially high-level.
He can easily make that working for a hedge fund or a bank, you don’t need that great programming skills if you know some math. Speaking from experience.

Probably without a degree if you have either some connections or chutspah. I can’t say for all, some might have some strictly stupid policies.
