As for me, when I read these guy’s maths, I’m awestruck. I don’t have their maths. But when I read their non-math papers, I think..… where’s the judgement ? Where’s the common sense ? Think of Aumann. He got his (pseudo-)Nobel prize for creating a mathematical proof that honest Bayesian arguers could never disagree. Unfortunately, Aumann’s proof had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with real people or real situations. That didn’t stop him getting his gong from people who admire maths for maths’ sake. The bias is that maths has somehow something to do with truth or reality. But somehow, I don’t hink I’ll see Eliezer or Robin addressing that bias here. Move on. Leave them to it.
