Cambridge Less Wrong Meetup
We’ll be having a Less Wrong meetup on Tuesday, October 12 at 7:00pm at Green Street Grill 280 Green Street Cambridge, MA, to coincide with SIAI President Mike Vassar’s visit to Boston. See the meetup.com page. This is in addition to the monthly meetups, which are on October 17th and on the third Sunday of every month.
This went really well, with lots of interesting conversations and more than 20 people (I didn’t get an exact count).
Just a reminder, the meetup at C3 is still on for Sunday.
I am coming, and possibly a friend too.
I came to one of the C3 meetups a few months ago but didn’t see any two people in the place talking to each other. Is there some way I can recognize you all?
I missed the August meetup, and apparently people had trouble connecting that time. Sorry about that. Generally, I put a Less Wrong Meetup sign on the table. For the one at Green St Grill, we’ll also tell the waitstaff where to direct people.
I might go. Haven’t been to the Boston area in a while.
*checks Amtrak* That’s an awfully long train ride, but I’m considering it. Who all will be there?
From Raleigh, flying is cheaper.
Cost and time aren’t as important to me as comfort, which trains are better for than planes (in my admittedly limited experience; I’ve been on one of each in the last 10 years). There’s not much point in going to a LW meetup if I’m too rattled to think straight when I get there.
Three hours might not be too bad, though. It still comes down to how interesting the meetup will be, whether it’d be worth it or not.
My goodness, a meetup I might actually be able to attend!
Darn, looks like I’ll be a bit late, as I have something to do in Kendall Square until 7pm. Still, I’m looking forward to meeting other LW users in Cambridge.
