Its possible that
Regulating AI inevitably causes a “muddling along” world.
Across potential futures, regulation is so rare that there are far more “asteroid knocks us back to the stoneage” worlds than “muddling along without AI” worlds.
Don’t confuse the counterfactual future without AI to the conditional future without it.
