Oh, huh, it also only does this in the comment editor and not the post editor. My guess is that it’s actually a feature in their font and has nothing to do with the editor. My guess is their font has some cool ligatures that make these things look nicer. We use a system font stack which doesn’t currently have those ligatures (seems like a very font-specific thing).
I’ve noticed that the EA Forum turns “->” into an arrow symbol, same with “<->”. Notion does the same, and I like the behavior there, too.
a) Is there any reason why the LW editor doesn’t do that?
b) Does the EA Forum editor have some other cool general features which the LW editor lacks?
