This activity doesn’t sound terribly promising to me, but it DOES sound like the sort of thing that is easy enough to try that people should try it rather than just criticizing it. One of the great insights of the Enlightenment is that math-guys are more averse to doing actual experiments to test their ideas than they should be if they are trying to understand the world and thus to win.
