Off the top of my head I see a problem: you are locking yourself into a particular position.
Basically, emotional attachments are more permanent than evaluations of evidence. If you change your mind about the danger of, say, global warming, your emotional attachment will not automatically go away. In fact, that attachment will be a considerable obstacle in the way of adjusting your beliefs.
And in general I would be cautious about deliberately instilling a phobia in oneself.
