(I think this was at least true for covid vaccines) I think we might get to a point where back bedroom biohackers can cure cancer (or some other major diseases) and no cure has been approved. The companies will be prioritizing the most profitable and easiest to get approval for treatments. The biohackers are going for anything cool. The result is a world where american doctors offices look similar to today, but you can buy working cancer cures from shady foreign websites, or make your own if you can follow online instructions well and buy a few $100 of equipment and supplies.
