You have to or you haven’t really solved the problem. It’s very much bounded, you do not need to simulate “reality”, you need to approximate the things that the nematode can experience to slightly higher resolution than it can perceive.
So basically you need some kind of dirt dynamics model that has sufficient fidelity to the nematodes very crude senses to be equivalent. It might be easier with an even smaller organism.
