I think the quoted sentence is actually a big plus. It gives an option of separating procreation from companionship for those who want them separate. This has been a trend for a long time, having a human to fulfill your specific need, as opposed to using a piece of machinery, becomes more and more of an “artisanal” thing, or a mark of wealth (relative wealth if you are in SE Asia). Like having a human servant do your laundry instead of using a washing machine. Or having a chauffeur instead of driving your own car (and some time soon having to drive your own car at all). Eventually people will look weird at those who get romantically involved with other humans directly, not mediated by an AI that can smooth the bumps in interactions, verbal, physical or emotional.
