The hard question to me seems to be when to employ simple heuristics, and when to expend more resources on the decision process. That’s the crux, because if there’s a sort of bias in dedicating resources, it’s easy to achieve arbitrary results (just as if you only take apart your opponent’s arguments, and don’t apply the same rigor to your own).
