I can even see in where I went wrong; I had an opaque concept in mind that “human lives are valuable” and was treating the baby as fungible in the sense that it doesn’t appear to be a human now, so it isn’t instrinsically valuable and can be replaced with another baby, later, at no loss the potential futures.
