In light of XFrequentist’s suggestion in “More Art, Less Stink,” would anyone be interested in a post consisting of a summary & discussion of Cialdini’s Influence?
This is a brilliant book on methods of influencing people. But it’s not just Dark Arts—it also includes defense against the Dark Arts!
I just finished reading that book. It is mostly from a “defense against” perspective.
Reading the chapter names provides a decent [extremely short] summary, and I expect that you’re already aware that they are influences. That said, when I read through it, there were a lot of “Aha!” moments, when I realized something I’ve seen was actually a well thought out ‘weapon of influence’- and now my new hobby is saying “Chapter 3: Commitment and Consistency!” every time I see it used as persuasion.
The whole book is hard to put down, and makes me want to quote part of it to the nearest person in about every paragraph or two.
I’d consider writing such a post, but I’m not sure how to compress it- the very basics should be obvious to the regulars here, but the details take time to flush out.

Yes, I would like such a post.
