I asked if she’s ever thought of contributing here? She said no, something “seems off” about this place. I acknowledge that yes, people can be blunt and mean here, but encourage her to contribute anyways. She writes back to me -

Given the opening of “something seems off” I get the impression that the aversion is not exactly about ‘blunt and mean’. She went along with you but “seems off” tends to refer to different social idiosyncrasies to bluntness.
