I think there is a kind of conversation that resembles Rogerian therapy (where the other person mostly listens, or comments on what was said but does not try to steer the conversation) that would work too. Possibly better for the kind of person who needs to verbalize their thoughts. Could be done with a buddy (taking turns), with a sidekick, or with a paid assistant.
