It is not clear whether non-EAs (whatever that exactly means) should participate in this survey.
My first reaction was: “I’m not really an EA. Should I take the survey? Maybe not.”
I’d think as many people as possible should take this survey to avoid selection biases.
Agreed that as many people as possible should take it. The first question asks whether you self-identify as an ‘EA’, and clarifies that we’d also like the responses of those who don’t.
If the questions don’t make sense, then either answer them as best you can or don’t answer them. We’re just looking to make sure that we minimize as much as possible our “I’m not really that EA, so I won’t take the survey” sample bias.
I appreciate that you did this—I wanted to give you information, but I’m also not very EA and kind of insecure about that, so I probably would have quit midway through the survey if there were too many questions that seemed like they weren’t for me.

EDIT: I took the survey,

For people who are not EAs, a lot of questions make little sense.

Yes. Many non-EA results will include lots of “unsure/unfamiliar with the options” responses.
