Normally we would invite you to come get old fashioned with us at a Sequences reading group, but this Tuesday Manifold Markets is holding an election watch party at Lighthaven, with 150+ people coming. You are still welcome to come however! The party is open to the public, doors open at 2pm.
Ben thinks the right time to pay any attention to election results is a week or two after, once it’s probably all been resolved, so he will be holed up in a cozy attic where all political discussion is forbidden, and we will still hold reading discussion groups there for whoever wants to participate. This week’s readings will be about politics.
(No food provided this week.)
We’ve been roughly working through the sequences highlights. There are no mandatory readings this week, but we strongly recommend reading the following readings and keeping them in mind while you are here, whether you go to a discussion group or not:
Some questions to ask yourself about the essays as you read them
What’s the most important point in the essay?
What’s the weakest point in the essay? Or what is the essay wrong about?
Can you think of a way to apply the ideas in this essay to your own life?
For the future
This is a weekly meetup! If you’d like to get notified of future events, you can subscribe to our meetup below to get an email whenever we add another one.
