This is true, but I read (half of) Confederate Reckoning, which described the amount of politicking it took to get a bunch of states with different economies and interests to join to make secession happen.
Another premise in regards to the FDA is the belief that a US government organization is more trustworthy than similar regulatory organizations from other governments.
An underlying premise in your piece is that verbal thought is a good way to get at how people approach the world.
