I wasn’t crazy about the sandworm challenge for getting to be politically influential—wouldn’t it make more sense to work one’s way up by being influential in smaller groups?

In story: the challenge is to join the City. Becoming influential afterwards is another task.
Out of story: the point of the sandworms is to suggest the breadth of possibilities going on in this world.
