I agree and disagree. Optionality is undervalued today—getting a second citizenship if possible, and a more diverse social support network across some borders, is worth a lot.
I doubt, in the case of “no-more-individual-property-rights” changes (AI takeover and AI-assisted human takeovers), that the current levels of welfare and private incomes will be at all relevant. In the medium-term (during takeoff, as some places are collapsing and some are maintaining), the places most different from your primary locale are probably best. But the changes will spread and catch up with you anywhere.
