If people who don’t understand the value of money (!!!), the role of plastics and of oil..… in other words, foolish, ignorant people who don’t understand much of how our world works, believe a thing to be “A Very Important Thing”, this is direct evidence that this belief is also wrong. You are correct that competence and gaining knowledge is different from getting social status or power in such circles. You are incorrect, that such activism can be a force for good, rather than a purely destructive force.
