In case that this is not an April Fool’s Day joke, I’ll try to come. Sunday seems good enough (though 12:00 is a bit early-birdy...)
As this is at lunchtime, I’d vote for something like Koko, Südtiroler Platz: The food is good, it offers more than one vegetarian dish, and it is not only in walking distance to just about all the inner++ city of Graz, but also reasonably close to a parking place should anybody arrive by car.
Please upvote iff you’re probably coming, and answer the subcomments...
What time is ideal for you and what times would work? Are you able to attend on another date but not Sunday 22?
Ah, I just looked up my calender, and indeed, I have an important obligation on Sunday 22 already. In case anybody wonders, I’d have time the week after, and the one after that...
Any other comments and suggestions
How does eurg’s suggestion, Koko, Südtiroler Platz, sound? Any more preferrable location?
i would suggest Tik Tak, Maygasse. And why don’t we meet up on Saturday? Would be much easier since most of us have to work on monday.
I would rather avoid Tik-Tak as meet-up location, as well as similar bars/cafés. Loud music/loud crowd, little light, much smoke… These reasons are behind my suggestion to go to somewhere more restaurant-like.
I myself will refrain from proposing further places, as too many options won’t make it any easier.
there is actually a non-smoker area in the “bar” in wich it is rather quit, because there aren’t any people in there.
.
I who made the meetup have no locations or any plan for it (and I just arrived in the country a few weeks ago); any suggestions are welcome!
Some suggestions:
12:00 is maybe too early. E.g. if I traveled from Munich to Graz, I’d have to get up at around 4:30. Vienna to Graz takes about 3 hours, so folks from Vienna would have to take the train at 8:45 which is still quite early, if you ask me :-)
you could make a doodle-survey just to see how many folks will show up and plan accordingly. Or you could make some surveys here on LW. Just write comments like e.g. “Is 12:00 too early? Vote this comment up if you think so.”
for the location: It has to be relatively quiet since discussing in noisy places sucks. User:eurg’s suggestion looks good.
Don’t know if this was helpful.
This was helpful and I made a comment post with these things!
Nice! I’ll probably be there (70%). Do you have any concrete location in mind?
ETA: Ah, the sin of overconfidence. 70% is too high. I didn’t know that you need 6 hours from Munich to Graz.
I changed my mind and wont ‘host’ this meetup, however the delete button doesn’t seem to work on the post
