I need to step away and think about that for a while before I decide whether or not it’s a good thing and whether it would work for me. I’m pattern-matching heavily to phygishness and tithing, but flinching isn’t fair without really examining the issue. Besides ideological differences (if any): is charitable donation to x-risk organizations tax deductible? Also, there is little evidence in my post history that I would donate a significant portion of income to reducing x-risk, and any attempt on my part to establish that now could just be self-interest and so should not be evidence.
