I’m confused how little engagement and karma this post is getting. Just got around to reading it, and it seems great. Lots of interesting and new (at least to me) ways of looking at social interactions and cultural differences. Also I’ve been thinking that it seems important for AI safety people to better understand or pay more attention to social status given how intertwined it is with what humans want and how we communicate/interact, so from that perspective I’m also very glad to see this series of posts. Looking forward to reading part 2.
