I procrastinate alot and when I do set aside some time to do something I usually manage it horribly.
When you’re doing something, perhaps you could take small meta-cognition breaks and ask yourself periodically if you’re managing your time well? When I’m programming, I find that I have to take breaks to do some chin-ups and clear my head a bit, and those are an ideal time to take a step back and look for better solutions that I may have overlooked.
I belive my problem is that I take to many of those “little breaks” and never actually get the project done, even though I may have most of the details worked out in my head already. It probably has to do with my ADHD as a kid, I have a short attention span and get off-task easily.
