If you look at the article, the people interviewed used to have trouble taking their meds. Some of the drug/psych patients failed rehab multiple times before getting through due to tiny financial incentives. That sounds like a cure to me.
And that solution does not make sense to me in any event. Getting yourself to do something you’ve been avoiding is, to my knowledge, never helped by deliberately avoiding it for an extended period of time.
