Are you a guy that wants more social interaction? Do you wish you could get complimented on your appearance?
Grow a beard! For some reason, it seems to be socially acceptable to compliment guys on a full, >1″, neatly trimmed beard. I’ve gotten compliments on mine from both men and women, although requests to touch it come mostly from the latter (but aren’t always sexual—women with no sexual attraction to men also like it). Getting the compliments pretty much invariably improves my mood; so I highly recommend it if you have the follicular support.
I thought of listing “Southeast USA.” However, a large metropolitan area in Florida, where I live, is a fairly cosmopolitan blend of Western culture. Not super-hip like a world-class city; and not provincial like 50 miles in any direction.
And the compliments have come from diverse sources—women at clubs, women on college campuses, military officers, people one socioeconomic class up and down...
I’ve heard people get complimented on their beards quite a bit in the past 8 years or so. Central/south Arkansas, but the locations were specifically college campuses (I think there was some beard-complimenting going around at ASMSA (residential high school intended to be more college-like), but I could be misremembering since the person I’m thinking of was active in other places I went). It was recommended to me, I think more than once.

Because of differences in local culture, please list what country you live in, and perhaps what region.
