By default I gravitate towards exactly the sort of overly-explicit communication, and paying-attention-to-multiple-dimensions-of-conversations, that this post criticizes (or at least, points out inadequacies of)
I’m grateful to this post for… sort of being written in my native language, such that I could actually listen to the message. (I feel like if I, say, just directly read a piece by the Delta Force or Bruce Lee, it probably wouldn’t have landed for me). Periodically reading this post helps me shake me out of my metaframe.
Relatedly… but at the same time perhaps quite separately: the story about the Nazi saboteurs and their instance that everything happen “in proper channels” was fairly alarming. I had some sense of “bureaucracy is harmful sometimes”, but hadn’t quite considered the potential degree. I had some followup thoughts to that here.
There’s a lot to chew on here, and I hope to eventually have a pretty good gears-level understanding of it so I can navigate the tradeoffs more deliberately.

I remain somewhat confused about what the actual best policy(ies) are here. I also feel at least some aesthetic aversion to it, although maybe that’s something I should change.
