He discusses specific issues that have made nutrition an area that has less good science occurring in it, including people with no qualifications being labeled as nutritionists, and a general tendency to confuse correlation with causation. Some of the issues that are happening in nutrition are more or less unique to that area.
Although note that academic research here isn’t the same as the industry in general. The journals are probably less influenced by the industry than trials of pharmaceuticals.
