Ignoring questions with no decision-relevant implications—or choosing to ignore them—or even actively trying to write them off (as GuySrinivasan describes) - are all quite reasonable. But the specific wording here is a tell that you’re motivated to dismiss Hypothesis H because there’s evidence that it’s true, which is in tension with the claim that it’s not important whether it’s true.
It would be helpful for such points to be made more explicitly, ideally contrasted with the good version of such behavior.
