I think that’s not really what the OP said, at least not in the naive way you seem to express here. You might disagree with them, but the OP is very specifically saying that they thought what they experienced was better than what they would have experienced in most other places in the world, or most other paths they could have taken.
I think judging the author to be wrong about their preferences, given their experiences, is not a totally crazy thing to do, given the situation, but your comment seems to somewhat misrepresent the author. To be clear, I do think the author believes that this was all not okay, but in a way that working at almost any job is not okay, in that it the whole world is kind of crazy about how coercive it is towards people.
