Instead of declaring group norms I think it would be worth it to have posts that actually lay out the case in a convincing manner. In general there are plenty of contrarian rationalists for whom “it’s a group norm” is not enough to not do something. Declaring it as a drug norm might get them to be more secretive about it which is bad.
Trying to solve issues about people doing the wrong things with group norms instead of with deep arguments doesn’t seem to be the rationalist way.
Have the important conversations about why you shouldn’t take drugs / engage in woo openly on LessWrong instead only having them only privately where it doesn’t reach many people. Then confront people who suggest something in that direction with those posts.
