I find your use of “warped” at the end interesting. In what way is the original connotations better to make you use a word like “warped” with a pejorative aspect rather than something neutral like “changed”?
Warp sounds right. I’m picturing an uneven lens type of thing that exaggerates some things and diminishes others as you look through it
