The fact that someone has suffered doesn’t imply that they are rational or irrational.
If you acknowledge evidence that someone is being irrational it doesn’t mean you have to deny they have any positive qualities or be unsympathetic about their problems.
I made no claim that they were rational—or that they had no nice qualities.
I was trying to point out that “I think that other people should not spend time on X because it is an unimportant topic to me” is failing to understand that to these people, X is not an unimportant topic.
