Thanks for the post. Yes, our internal processing has a huge effect on our well-being. If you take full responsibility for your emotions (which mindfulness practices, gratitude and reframing are all part of), then you get to decide what your well-being is in any moment, even if physical pleasure or pain are pushing you in one direction or the other. This is part of the process of raising your self-esteem (see Branden), as is taking full responsibility for your actions so you don’t have to live with the pain of conscience breaches.
