Arguments about ethics here, and in the discussion below, seem focused and peripheral relative to a bigger question: is there any guarantee, a priori, that perfect rationality would result in something that I (and you) would consider ethical? Is there some argument that there is a rational solution and it will be acceptable? My head goes in circles when I think about how rationality must lead to the truth so it must be acceptable but then I read the comments below and I think, “how can humans be trusted on this, individual by individual?”.
